Cyriac Brideau

Cyriac Brideau 1909 - 2007 ST. LOUIS DE KENT, NB - Cyriac Brideau passed away on August 10, 2007 at the Villa Maria in St. Louis. Born in 1909 to the late Augustin Brideau and Marie Daigle. He is survived by his wife, Irène (Maillet); two sons from this marriage, Ronald (Cécile), Paul (Annette); and Bernard (Rose-Anna), from his first wife, Ida Robichaud, who died during childbirth in 1936. He leaves behind five granddaughters, Brigitte, Josette, Nicole, Sylvie, and Louise; three grandsons, Jean-Robert, Eric, and Alexandre; also two great grandsons, Jérémy and Cédric. He had three sisters, Late Alice, Aurélie and Élisa; and two brothers, late Adélard and François. We will always remember Cyriac as a story teller, a writer of short stories and historic events; he had a passion for theater and comedy skecthes. He loved the Canadian and Acadian flags for what they stood for. He ran a general store for 27 years and prior to that he worked on bridge construction, the St. Louis bridge being one of them. He also ran a farm and carding mill. He was a good organizer, he built a rink and a hockey team, a marching band, many fund raising picnics for his church and organized many theatre plays. He had an extraordinary memory and many people sought his recollections. His community will miss him as he loved his native St. Louis. His family will miss this man since he gave so much. This time he won't be able to sing at his mass but he sure knows the words since he sang at masses for a long time. Farewell Pape, may God now enjoy your stories.
