Calvin Gilbert Willis GRAND BAY-WESTFIELD, NB - Calvin Gilbert Willis of Grand Bay-Westfield passed away on Thursday September 27, 2007 after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 67. He will be greatly missed by his wife of 46 years, Eleanor (Craig); son, Kevin Bradley Willis (Laura) of Victoria, BC; daughter, Kelly Ann (Stephen) MacGougan of Grand Bay-Westfield; three granddaughters, Jessica and Jennifer Willis and Shelby MacGougan; brothers, Lary Willis (Gail) of Wirral, Peter Willis (Cecil) of Moncton, Edward Willis (Charlene) of Ontario; sisters, Linda Charlton (David) of Welsford and Alta Marr (Charles) of Riverview, Aunt Marion Kirk of Saint John; several brothers and sisters-in-law and nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, Walter and Elizabeth (Donald) Willis. Calvin (Gib) began working at the age of 11 in his Uncle Bill Kirk's Grocery Store, after Graduating from Saint John Vocational School in 1959, he worked for Ocean Steel as a draftsman for a short time before changing careers to the meat business. He worked for Canada Packers (Maple Leaf) for 29 years. After leaving Canada Packers he worked for Cargil Foods and then Mulder's Meat until his retirement in 1997. Calvin (Gib) enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, woodworking and he loved being at his camp at South Oromocto Lake. At the request of Calvin (Gib) there will be no visitation. A Memorial Service will be held from Fundy Funeral Home Chapel, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) on Saturday October 6, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. The family would appreciate donations made to the charity of the donor's choice. www.fundyfuneralhome.com
