LINA CHAVARIE 1914 - 2007 Lina Chavarie of Rexton, NB, wife of the late Telesphore "Telex" Chavarie, passed away on Saturday, October 22nd, 2007 at the Villa Maria Nursing Home, St. Louis de Kent. She was born September 3rd, 1914 in St. Charles, NB to the late Antoine and Nathalie (Daigle) Robichaud. Lina was a 1934 graduate of the Normal Schoolteacher's College in Fredericton and for 11 years taught grades 1 to 8 in a one-room school in St. Charles. She and her husband then owned a restaurant in Chatham for 10 years before moving to Rexton to operate a family clothing store and then a grocery store. Upon retirement she devoted countless hours to volunteering for the church and other organizations. She was also a member of the Senior Golden Age Club, Rexton and Richibucto. She is survived by three daughters, Rose May (Louis) Daigle, Norma (Jean-Guy) Richard and Carmen Chavarie-Lacombe; two sisters, Lucie (Charlemin) Robichaud and Roseline (Maxime) Babineau; one brother, Jude (Priscille) Robichaud; grandchildren, Normand, Nicole, Monique, Pauline, Catherine, Nathalie and Andrea; and two great-grandchildren, Haley and Lauren Waters. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 23rd from 2 until 4 and from 7 until 9, then again on Wednesday from noon until the time of the funeral at Thompson's Funeral Home, Richibucto. The funeral Mass will be held at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, Rexton on Wednesday, October 24th at 2:00 pm, interment to follow at the church cemetery.
