Barbara Atkinson FROSTY HOLLOW - The death of Barbara Atkinson occurred at the Moncton City Hospital on Friday, November 2, 2007. Born in Cookville, she was the daughter of the late Ernest & Elsie (nee Kaye) Polley. Barb loved to fish and very much enjoyed an opportunity to play cards, go camping or listen to bluegrass. Barb will be sadly missed by her partner and special friend, Richard Phinney; her sons, Robert (Delores) Atkinson of Calgary, David (Kathy) Atkinson of Truro, James (Britta) Atkinson of Edmonton, Fred (Wendy) Atkinson of Frosty Hollow; one daughter, Gail (John) MacAskill of Sackville, NS; step-daughters, Debbie (Gary) Wiggins of Middleton, Bonnie (John) Brownell of Sackville; step-son Alan Phinney of Dorchester; nine grandchildren, Raeanne, Shawna, Ryan, Daniel, Katrina, Shane, Cody, Melissa & Rachel; two great-grandsons, Dalton & Seth; two sisters, Ruby (Abner) Beal of Sackville, Linda (Neil) Crossman of Port Alberny, BC. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by daughter-in-law, Tammy Atkinson; step-daughter, Donna Johnson; step-son, Richard Phinney III; granddaughter, Judith Atkinson; three brothers, William, Oakley & Murray Polley; and sister, Helen Melanson. The remains have been entrusted to Jones Funeral Home, Sackville. Visitation will be held 7-9pm Saturday, November 3, 2007, 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm Sunday, November 4, 2007. A funeral service will take place on Monday, November 5, 2007 from the Midgic United Baptist Church, Midgic at 1:00 pm with reception to follow. Interment will be in the Midgic Cemetery immediately following the service.
