Patricia Bastarache
Patricia Bastarache 1945-2007 St. Antoine, N.B. - It is with great sadness, the family announces the passing of Patricia Bastarache. She went to be with her Lord and Savior, November 10th, 2007. Wife and companion of Lorenzo (Larry) Bastarache of St. Antoine, N.B.; mother and best friend of Joy (Stephen) Hicks and grandmother of three very special grandchildren, Meaghan, Matthew and Kyle Hicks. Pat will be greatly missed by her friends and family. Born in Stoke-on-Trent, Straffordshire, England, Pat was the daughter of Elsie and the late Harry Rogers. Besides her husband, daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren, she is also survived by her mother and three brothers. Lee (Jeanette) Rogers, Paul (Debbie) Rogers, of England and Mark Rogers of Germany. Pat knew and loved Jesus and enjoyed talking about him to everyone. She was a member of the McKees Mills Baptist Church, where she had served as secretary, Sunday School teacher, ABW President, member of the Praise team, and was the caller of all, when items of praise, prayer requests, or other happenings in the church needed to be shared. She had been involved with the Moncton Crisis Pregnancy Center for some years and during the last years of her life, she especially loved the Kent County After Five Club, where she was currently serving as President. Pat had a beautiful voice and loved to sing. She had been invited to sing at many area churches and occasions where her fine Christian testimony was enjoyed. But best of all, she loved singing, first to her daughter, Joy and later to her grandchildren. Always ready to help, Pat learned to know and love many people. She was especially known for the wonderful meals and luncheons she could prepare. Born in England, Pat moved to the United States when she was nineteen. She married Larry in 1968 and they moved to Florida where they lived for twenty-one years. They came to St. Antoine in 1989 and have been living there since. Funeral service will be held at the Baptist church in McKees Mills on Saturday, November 17th, at 11:00 am. Interment will be at the McKees Mills Baptist Cemetary.
