Yvon Bourgeois

Yvon Bourgeois 1907 - 2007 SHEDIAC, NB - Yvon Bourgeois, age 100, passed away after a brief illness at his residence, Villa Providence, Shediac, on December 1, 2007. Born in Grande-Digue on October 30, 1907, he was the son of the late Napoleon Bourgeois, and the late Helene Robichaud. He was a retired Farmer and fishermen and truck driver, self employed for the last fifty years. He was employed with the provincial government, a forman with the dept of highway in Cocagne. Yvon Bourgeois was very well involved in his community, he was the founding member of the Caisse Populaire de Grande-Digue and was the last surviving founding member. He represented the parish of Dundas at the level of Kent county for many years. He attended La-Visitation Roman Catholic Church, Grande-Digue. Survived by five daughters, Carmella Bourgeois (Roger), Anita Cormier (Leonide), Lucia Richard, Grande-Digue, Elise Leger (Alcide), Barachois, Cecile Parrot, Halifax; two sons, Edmond Bourgeois (Lorraine), Thomas Bourgeois, Grande-Digue; four sisters, Marguerite Gallant (Late Freddy), Haverhill Mass., Leonise Langis (Late Robert), Moncton, Anita Strom (Late Robert), Jeanne Epping (Late Charles), Seattle Wash.; 32 grandchildren; and 44 great grandchildren. Predeceased by his wife, the late Helene Robichaud (Bourgeois)(2004); one son, Zoel (1993); one daughter, Juliette (1991); three sisters, Viola (1984), Aline (1971), Lucia (1999); three brothers, Alderic (1997), Edmond, Laurie, at a very young age. Requested by the family there will be no visiting time at the funeral home. Funeral service at La Visitation Roman Catholic Church, Grande-Digue, on Tuesday, December 4, 2007 at 4pm. Interment in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers requested by the family a memorial donation to the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Foundation, or the the Cancer society, or donor's choice would be appreciated.
