Alphonse J. Maillet (Al) 1926 - 2007 STE-ANNE-DE-KENT, NB - Alphonse J. Maillet (Al), 80, of Chemin St-Gabriel, Ste-Anne-de-Kent, NB, passed away at the Stella Maris Hospital, Ste-Anne-de-Kent on Sunday, December 2, 2007 after a lengthy illness. Born in Moncton, NB, on December 23, 1926, he was the son of the late Alphonse Maillet and the late Jenny Foster. He was a retired Auto Body Repairman. He attended Ste-Anne de Kent Roman Catholic church and was a member of Club D'Age D'Or of Ste-Anne de Kent. He was a veteran of the Second World War and Korean War and served in Germany, he was one of the founding members of Branch #43 in 1945. He held every offices in branch #43 including eight years as president and twenty-five years as service officer. Alphonse was married to his loving wife for fifty two years, Eva Maillet (LeBlanc); three sisters, Regina Maillet, Cocagne, Lorraine Comeau (late Dennis), Bouctouche, Laura Williams (late Milledge), Moncton; one brother, Leo Maillet, Cocagne; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Sanford and Edgar; one sister, Delia. Requested by the family, there will be no visiting time at the funeral home. The funeral service will be held at Ste-Anne de Kent Roman Catholic Church on Monday, December 10, 2007 at 4 pm. Interment will take place in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers a memorial donation to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
