Alyre Cormier
Alyre Cormier SHEDIAC, NB- Alyre Cormier, 84, of Villa Providence Home, Shediac, formerly of Moncton, passed away Tuesday, December 11, 2007 at the Villa following a lengthy illness. Born September 27, 1923 in Cormier's Cove (Memramcook), he was the son of the late Damien Cormier and Alva Landry. He was a chartered accountant and was recognized by his peers for his contribution to the profession by being named "Fellow" in 1987. During his business career, he held, among others, the position of CEO of L'Évangéline newspaper and Executive Director of the Memramcook Institute. He was also professor of finance and accounting at l'Université de Moncton. He is survived by his two daughters, Michelle of Moncton and Jacqueline (Warren) of Qualicum Beach, B.C.; his sisters and brothers, Éveline LeBlanc (Paul-Émile) and Emma Gautreau (Cléophas) of Moncton, Marie Saulnier (Ralph) of Lynn, Mass., Jeannette Boudreau (Maurice) and Damien (Aline) of Memramcook, Owen (Rita) of Waltham, Mass., and Bernard (Yvonne) of Dieppe; his sisters-in-law, Télorise (late Léo), Aurèla (late Alonzo) and Rita (late Alfred); his stepchildren, (late Nola): Gisèle, Jocelyne, Michel and Monique as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife, Andréa (née Doucet); his second wife, Nola (née LeBlanc); as well as his sisters and brothers, Théosanne Murray, Florence Landry, Léo, Alonzo, Alfred and Valerie. Visitation at salon funéraire Frenette Funeral Home, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) The funeral mass will be held at 10:30 Saturday, December 15 at Christ-Roi R.C. Church Moncton.
