Donald Robert Kennedy, 78, of 346 Brother Street, New Glasgow, died Wednesday March 11, 2009 at home.
Born in Pictou, he was a son of the late Henry and Jean (Kennedy) White.
Donald was a resident of New Glasgow all of his life where he was employed with Day and Ross up until his retirement. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church. Donald was a big sports fan, loved to play guitar, music, golfing, dancing and watching war movies.
He is survived by his wife, the former Debbie Boutilier, New Glasgow; daughters, Donna Flemming, Ottawa; and Joy Kennedy, MacLellan’s Mountain; a son, Matthew, New Glasgow; a step-daughter, Lori McKay, Alberta; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, special extended families, the Kitsons and Nugents.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Sarah MacKay; and a sister, Elaine Clark.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial mass will be held 11a.m. Saturday from Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church with Father Peter MacDonald officiating. Reception to follow in the parish hall. Burial of ashes will take place in the parish cemetery at a later date.
No flowers by request of the family.
