Joyce Ada Cormier AMHERST, NS - Joyce Ada Cormier, age 60, of Amherst NS, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 21, 2008 following a courageous battle with cancer at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre in Upper Nappan, NS with her loving family by her side. Born in Amherst, she was a daughter of the late Harold and Marion (Simmons) Jones. She was a devoted member of the Crossroads Gospel Temple, Amherst where she provided sign language for the congregation. Joyce enjoyed spending time with her loving grandchildren. Joyce is survived by her son, Tim (Heidi) of Moncton NB; daughter, Lisa (Wayne) Surette of Moncton NB; sister, Clara Mabey of Coburg ON; brothers,Larry, Carson (Nancy), Walter (Pat) and Raymond all of Amherst, Charlie (Cheryl) of Lower Sackville NS, Robert (Ruth) of Dundas ON, and Earl (Jeanette) of Moncton NB; three grandchildren, Ashley, Cameron and Daniel; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, Johnny, Jimmie and Harold. Visitation will be held at Campbell's Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst NS, (902-667-9906) on Saturday, February 23, 2008 from 2-5 p.m. Funeral service will take place on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. from Crossroads Gospel Temple, Amherst with Rev. Mitchell Lewis officiating. Interment will take place in the Amherst Cemetery in the spring. Donations in Joyce's memory may be made to the Crossroads Gospel Temple or Canadian Cancer Society.
