Marion E. Mills 1916-2008 The death of Marion Elizabeth Mills of the Miramichi Senior Citizen Home and formerly of Douglastown, widow of James W. Mills, occurred at the Miramichi Senior Citizen Home on Wednesday, February 20, 2008 at the age of 91 with her loving family at her side. Born in Chatham, NB, Marion was the daughter of the late Tom and Bessie (Bell) Hanna. Marion had worked as an assistant cook at the Miramichi Senior Citizen Home for six years when the home first opened and her remaining years as a homemaker. She attended St. Mark's United Church, Douglastown and was a member of the Douglastown Seniors Group. Marion is survived by two daughters, Sandra Josephson of Winchester, Mass. and Jean Allison of Chatham Head, NB; two sons, David (Barb) of Lower Derby and Douglas (Mary) of Douglastown, NB; one sister, Jean Runge of Carver, Mass.; fifteen grandchildren; nineteen great- grandchildren; and three great-great- grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by one son, James and infant son Archie; four sisters, Ruth Bennett, Edith Mullins, Alice Hanna and Ethel Balmaine; two brothers, Freeman and Frank; and infant brother, Wilbur; and grandson, David Mills Jr. Visitation will be held at Bell's Funeral Home Today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral Service will be held from the Sterling Bell Memorial Chapel on Saturday February 23, 2008 at 2 pm with Rev. Ross Wiseman officiating assisted by Rev. Ronald Feltmate. Burial will take place in St. Mark's United Church Cemetery, Douglastown later in the spring. In Marion's memory a donation may be made to the Miramichi Senior Citizen Home or St. Mark's United Church or a memorial of ones choice.
