Marie Henwood
Marie Henwood 1921 - 2008 Marie Henwood, 86, of Riverview and formerly of Hillsborough passed away peacefully at the Grass Nursing Home on February 26th, 2008. Marie was born in Hillsborough on July 1st, 1921 the daughter of the late Frank and Alice (Osborne) Jonah. She was a homemaker and also worked at Atlantic Wholesalers in the Meat Department for approximately 15 years. She was an active member of the First Hillsborough Baptist Church and also sang in the Silver Chords Choir, when they resided in Hillsborough. After moving to Riverview in her later years she joined the Gunningsville United Baptist Church. She really enjoyed sharing in fellowship and worship with her many friends. Marie was a small lady in stature but was known for her huge heart. She was always smiling and enjoyed a good laugh. Above all things, Marie loved her family and felt blessed to have all the years with her best friend and husband, Ottis, they were truly two peas in a pod. She also treasured all the times spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, they were her pride and joy. She was a beloved wife, mother, nanny and great nanny who will be remembered for her sweet and kind manner. Her family knows Marie is now at peace and she leaves them with many good memories and will live on in their hearts forever. She will be deeply missed by her loving husband, Ottis Henwood; daughter, Rhona Hendy (Ralph) of Caledonia Mountain; son, Elwyn Henwood (Sharon) of Moncton; her four precious grandchildren, Lisa Hendy (Todd McDavid) of Turtle Creek, Tammy Milton (Jeff) of Riverview, Todd Henwood (Stacey) of Dartmouth and Stacey Dowling (George) of Mauldin, South Carolina; her cherished twelve great grandchildren, Jeremy, Corey, Felicia, Kayla, Brett, Jessica, Colby, Olivia, Anna, Sophia, Logan and Quinn; and by her sister-in-law, Phyllis Jonah of Hillsborough. She will also be deeply missed by several nieces and nephews and by all of Ottis's family. Besides her parents she was predeceased by an infant sister, Hester; and by her two brothers, Ronald and Arnold. She will be resting at the Albert County Funeral Home with visitation on Wednesday, February 27th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The Funeral Service will be held at the Albert County Funeral Home on Thursday, February 28th, 2008 at 1:00 pm with Rev. Blair Holden officiating and Rev. Dean MacDonald assisting. Interment will be held in the Fair Haven memorial Gardens, Moncton. For those who wish donations to the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
