Passed peacefully away at Chancellor Park, on Thursday, March 12, 2009, William J. Penney, age 85 years. Member of Lodge Saint Andrew of the Masonic and Mazol Shrine. Predeceased by his son Art Penney. Leaving his wife Una (nee Vavasour); daughters: Cynthia Brown (Derek) and Carol Smith (Bruce); grandchildren; Steven Smith, Daniel Smith (Heather), Andrea Payne (Geoff), Audrey Morton (Dan) and Alison Brown; two great-grandchildren: Josh and Emily Payne; daughter-in-law Gail Perks (Bill); also many other relatives and friends. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday, March 13, 2009. A memorial service will be held from The Church of St. Mary the Virgin, Craigmillar Avenue on Saturday, March 14, 2009 at 2 p.m. Interment to follow in the Columbarium at The Anglican Cemetery, Forest Road.
