Clarence MacBurnie The death of Clarence MacBurnie, age 88, of Dieppe, NB, occurred at the Westford Nursing Home, Port Elgin, NB on Friday, March 7, 2008. Born in Tatamagouche, he was the son of the late Wardsman and Sadie (MacDonald) MacBurnie. During World War II, Clarence served as a dispatch motorcycle driver, throughout Europe. After returning to Canada he drove truck before becoming a Heavy Machines Operator. Prior to retirement, he worked with Dexter Construction. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch # 6 for many years. He is sadly missed by nieces, Sadie Tattrie (Hector), Jean Mingo and Flora Wall (Karl), Judy Cullen (Ed); nephew Earl MacDonald (Joan), special friend Thelma Blacklock, her children, Ralph Blacklock (Ann), Kencil Blacklock, Leonard Blacklock (Edith), Eileen Blair (Stewart). He was predeceased by brothers, Danny, Duncan "Pete"; half-brothers, Earl and Frank MacDonald. Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to the Jones Funeral Home, 3 West Main St., Port Elgin, NB (506-538-2241) where visiting hours will be held on Monday, March 10, 2008 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will take place at the funeral home on Tuesday, March 11, 2008 at 2 pm, Rev. James Shaffner officiating.
