Thomas Winslow Earl (Tom) Shillington, husband of Sunday
Thomas W. E. Shillington 1932 - 2008 The death of Thomas Winslow Earl (Tom) Shillington, husband of Lois, of Rockland Dr., Moncton, occurred at his residence on Sunday, March 23rd, 2008 following a period of failing health. Born in Saint John on March 26th, 1932 he was the son of the late Earl Shillington and Helen (Winslow) (Shillington) Jones. Tom had been employed with CN Telecommunications in Saint John and Moncton for many years prior to his retirement. Following retirement Tom was very active in the Christmas Tree Association and he owned and operated Tom's Choose and Cut Christmas Tree Lot in Colpitts Settlement. He was also an avid salmon fisherman. Tom is survived by his wife, Lois (Power); two sons, Thomas Jr. of Moncton and Fred of Colpitts Settlement; one sister, Rita Moore; one brother, John (Audrey) all of Saint John; four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by one sister, Grace. Resting at Cadman Bowness Funeral Home (857-1110) 114 Alma Street Moncton with visiting hours on Wednesday, March 26th from 7 to 9 pm, funeral service will be held at Cadman Bowness Funeral Home on Thursday, March 27th at 2pm. Interment will be in Fernhill Cemetery, Saint John, NB. Donations in Tom's name made to the SPCA would be appreciated by the family.
