Kathleen (Kay) Mary Doucette
Kathleen (Kay) Mary Doucette Kathleen (Kay) Mary Doucette, 62, of Moncton, formerly of Riverview, passed away Monday March 24, 2008 at her residence surrounded by her two loving sons and close friends. Kay was born in Newcastle on July 31, 1945. She was the daughter of the late Allan and Lillian (Hanley) Murray of Newcastle. Kay was a devoted teacher having taught at several schools throughout the Riverview area, she retired in 1998 with over 33 years as an educator. She was the choir director at Holy Family Catholic Church. She was the publisher of the Nanny Kay Children's Series, having won the Governor General's Award for one of her books. She will be dearly missed by her loving family sons, Jonathan of Moncton and Aaron (Nina) of Fredericton; daughters, Alice Desrosiers (Peter) of Grand Bay, NB and Teri Marie Wallace of Saint John; sister, Shirley Dickson of Miramichi; cherished grandchild, Tristan; dear nieces, Ann Kennedy and Carol Cannon. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Terry; a granddaughter, Abigail; and a brother, David Murray. Visitation will take place at Cobb's Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Road, Riverview (869-2007) on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9, the funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Bernard's Roman Catholic Church, Botsford Street, Moncton on Friday March 28, 2008 at 11:00 AM, with Father Allison Carroll presiding, assisted by Father Phil Mulligan. Parish Prayers and sharing of memories will take place on Thursday at 8:30 PM from the funeral home. The interment will take place at Alderwood Cemetery at a later date.
