Alonzo J. Cormier
Alonzo J. Cormier 1933 - 2008 Alonzo Cormier, formerly of Dieppe, passed away at The Moncton Hospital on Wednesday, March 26th, 2008 following a lengthy battle with cancer. Born in Moncton, on January 6th, 1933 he was the son of the late Sam and Helene Cormier. Alonzo retired from the CN Yards following many years of service. His passions were harness racing and fishing. Alonzo is survived by his sons Norman of Dieppe and Wayne (Jacqueline) of Moncton; a brother, Arnold (Lodia) of Dieppe; and a sister, Joanne Goguen (Joe) of Dieppe; two grandsons, Shawn McGrath (Becky) of Moncton and Kevin McGrath (Amy) of Dieppe; two great-grandchildren, Liam and Oliva Jane McGrath; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Laura in 2007; and daughters, Jane McGrath and Irene. Visitation will be held at Fair Haven Funeral Home on Sunday, March 30th, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held from the chapel of Fair Haven Funeral Home on Monday, March 31, 2008 at 11:00 am, Father Jean Guy Dallaire officiating. A reception for Alonzo's family and friends will follow the service in the Garden View Room of the funeral home. Interment in Fair Haven Memorial Gardens.
