John Kenneth (Ken) McKinnon 1920 - 2008 John Kenneth McKinnon, 88, of Grand Barachois, formerly of Moncton, passed away Thursday, March 27, 2008, at his residence, the Villa Providence, in Shediac, NB, following a brief illness. Born February 28th, 1920, in Miramichi (Douglastown), he was the son of the late Neil and Sadie (Patterson) McKinnon. He left Miramichi at the age of 17 and soon found work with CN Railway. Ken eventually went on to become a foreman with the CN shops in Moncton. He kept busy running his vegetable and strawberry farm as well as managing his woodlot and raising trout on his acreage in Grand Barachois. Ken was also an avid deer hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed his time spent with the Knights of Columbus (Pointe-du-Chêne), the Silver Sands Seniors Club (Shediac Cape) and the Archery Club (Shediac). Ken is survived by his sister Katherine "Kay" (Chevrier) of Miramichi; his son Dwight (Emelda) of Shediac; two grandchildren, Paul (Stacey) of Miramichi and Jennifer (Jason Geldart) of Austin, Texas; three great-grandchildren, Emma, Madalyn and Noah of Miramichi and his nieces and nephews, Karen, Kathleen, Gerald, Geraldine, Kenny and their families. He was predeceased by his wife, Ruby, in 1994; three brothers, Gerald, Neil and Father Joe McKinnon. Visitation will be on Sunday, March 30 from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm at the Coopérative Funéraire Passage Funeral Co-operative, 3754, Route 134, Shediac Bridge, NB. The Funeral Service to be held at Our Lady of Mercy Roman Catholic Church in Pointe-du-Chêne, on Monday, March 31st, 2008 at 11:00 am, conducted by Father Michael Toner.
