Mathieu DeVarennes
Mathieu DeVarennes 1983 - 2008 Mathieu DeVarennes, 24, of Sainte-Marie de Kent and formerly of Saint-Paul and Saint-Antoine has passed away suddenly from a car accident on McKee's Mill Rd. on Wednesday, April 16th, 2008. Born on November 24th, 1983, he was the son of Jean-Guy DeVarennes and Stella Poirier. He was employed with Top Gun Electric, prior to his last enrollment at college; he received word on April 15th, that he was now a licensed electrician. Mathieu was a Minor Hockey assistant coach for the Pee Wee Kent-Sud team. Mathieu is survived by his parents; Jean-Guy DeVarennes (Lise Bourque) of Saint-Antoine, and Stella Poirier (Charles Chiasson) of Richiboucto- Village; his common-law wife, Krystal Cormier; one sister, Mélanie DeVarennes (Gaston Robichaud) of Richiboucto-Village; maternal grandmother, Thérèse (Fagan) Poirier (Rosario Roy) of Memramcook; paternal grandparents, Alcide and Cécile (Gaudet) DeVarennes of Bouctouche, several uncles, aunts, and cousins. He was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Alonzo Poirier. Visitation will be held at the Notre-Dame du Mont Carmel Roman Catholic Church Slumber Room, Sainte-Marie de Kent on Thursday April 17th, from 7 to 9 and Friday from 2 to 4 and 5:30 to 6:45 pm. Funeral Mass will be held at the Notre-Dame du Mont Carmel Church on Friday April 18th, 2008 at 7:00 pm. Interment will be in the parish Cemetery in the spring. In Mathieu`s memory donations can be made to the IWK foundation or donations to the family.
