Edith Fern Harris The death of Edith Fern (Irving) Harris of Fredericton, NB, wife of the late Fred Harris occurred on Sunday, April 20th, 2008 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital after a brief illness. Born in West Branch, Kent Co., she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Jameseena (MacMurray) Irving. Edith is survived by her two sons, F. Ian Harris (Virginia) of Acton Mass., and Brian Harris (Cheryl) of Hampton, NB; five grandchildren, Melanie Campbell, Erin Harris, Matthew Harris, Scott Harris, and Kirsty Harris; two great-grandchildren, Bradley Campbell and Elizabeth Campbell; two sisters, Alfreda Phillips of Quispamsis, NB, and Agnes (Nessie) Prosser of Calgary, Alberta. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Fred and five sisters. Edith was a member of the Eastern Star in excess of 50 years and held various offices including the position of Worthy Matron of Celestial Chapter #3 Fredericton. She was a long time resident of Fredericton and had been active member of St Andrews Presbyterian Church for over 50 years. She enjoyed the game of bridge and was an avid player having played her last game shortly before her death. The family will receive visitors at McAdam's Select Community Funeral Home, 160 York Street, Fredericton, NB, on Wednesday, April 23rd, 2008 from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm. The funeral service including an Eastern Star Tribute Service will take place in the J.A. McAdam Memorial Chapel on Thursday, April 24th, 2008 at 11:00 am with Rev. Doug Blaikie officiating.
