Jean C. S. Tuck

Jean C. S. Tuck 1924-2008 Jean Curtiss Swift Tuck, B.S.A., B.A., B.Ed., M.Ed. passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on May 6th, 2008 with her family by her side. Born in Springhill, NS on October 30, 1924 she was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Dewar) Swift. Jean was a teacher, who taught at NSIT, Queen Elizabeth, and Moncton High schools, a daughter, a sister, a wife, but first and foremost a loving, caring mother. While balancing all of these facets in her life she studied for and received her crown jewel, a Masters in Education from U de M in 1980. During her retirement years she was actively involved in her families' lives, cheering on the Toronto Blue Jays and the New England Patriots, the I.O.D.E., bridge, round and square dancing, yoga, line dancing, and expressing her passion for art through her love for tole painting. Jean's warm heart and welcoming smile will be greatly missed by her two sons, David, Hillsborough and Bruce, Chester; her daughter-in-laws, Cathy (Dryden) and Susan (Sowerby); her grandson, Curtis; her husband, Frank of nearly 60 years, and countless others who had the pleasure of meeting and knowing her. Jean is also survived by her brothers, Henry Morrison Swift (Halifax) and John Oxley Swift (New Glasgow); their wives, Jackie and Muriel; nieces, Pam, Judy, Susan, Marilyn, and Sandra; nephews, John, Michael, and Donald. The family will receive condolences on Friday evening, May 9th, from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm, at Fair Haven Funeral Home 1177 Salisbury Road. With deep respect for Jean's wishes, a private family service will be held. Interment in Fair Haven Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers a donation in Jean's name to the Canadian Cancer Society or The Friends of The Moncton Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
