Vaughn Ralph Terris 1934 - 2008 Vaughn Terris, 73, of Shenstone passed away at the Moncton Hospital on May 28, 2008 after a struggle with cancer. Vaughn was born in Shenstone on August 15, 1934, the son of the late Isaiah Terris and Edith (Baisley) Parker. He worked at Co-op and also with TP Downey & Sons in the woods for a few years. He retired as a school bus driver and custodian after 32 years of service and he also was a farmer, who thoroughly enjoyed his draft horses. He was also involved with the Hillsborough Legion and played with the dart league when he was able. Vaughn was the type of man once you met him you would never forget him, he lived to torment and tease. He was one of those farmers who was as strong as an ox and also as stubborn as a mule, you could never tell him something couldn't be done because he would prove you wrong everytime. He was a true friend to many and whenever you were down, if he could help in anyway he would be there, even if only with a story or a joke to cheer you up at times. He was also an avid hunter (Out of Season), there was never a lack of moose meat at Vaughn's place. He will never be forgotten. "Only A Smile Away". He will be sadly missed by his daughter, Sandra Heikkinen (Wayne) of Flesherton, Ont.; his sons, William "Bill" (Olwen) of Bleheim, Ont., Reginald (Leslie) of Hillsborough, Ben (Yvonne), Anthony (Phyllis) and James all of Shenstone; his several grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is also survived by the mother of his children, Marion Harrison of Hillsborough; half-sister, Evelyn McLatchy of Weldon and by several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by two half-brothers, Milton and Alfred; three half-sisters, Ruby, Gladys and Greta. He will be resting at the Albert County Funeral Home with visitation on Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. The funeral service will be held at the Albert County Funeral Home on Sunday, June 1, 2008 at 11:00am with Pastor Leonard Geldart and Vaughn's son, William "Bill" officiating. Interment will be in the Shenstone Cemetery, Shenstone, N.B.
