82, Sydney It is with great regret that we, the family announce the passing of Cecilia Shaw on Monday, Nov. 3, 2008, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, after complications due to meningitis. Born in Paisley, Scotland, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Anne (Currie) Barr. Cecilia has left behind to mourn are her loving husband, John Anthony; sons, David Anthony (Jocelyn), Kenneth John (Cheryl); daughter, Karen Cecilia (Joe) Schnitker; her wonderful grandchildren, Madeleine, Jenna and Bradley as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Anne and Andrew, she was predeceased by her siblings, Ruby, Janet, Dan, Alma, Mary, John, Betty and Anne. She will always be loved and missed by her family and friends. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will take place Thursday, Nov. 6 at the S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney, 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Friday, Nov. 7 at the funeral home chapel.
