Gerard Landry 1918 - 2008 Gerard Landry of Cap-Lumiére, formerly of Cap Pelé, beloved husband of Alice (Maillet) Landry, passed away peacefully at the Stella Maris Hospital, Ste. Anne de Kent, Tuesday, June 3rd, 2008 after a lengthy illness at the age of 89. Born in Cap Pelé, he was the son of the late Joseph Landry and the late Zelima (Gautreau). Gerard attended the St. Antoine de Padoue Roman Catholic Church, Richibouctou-Village. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 30, Richibucto, Richibouctou-Village Sports Club, Knights of Columbus 3rd Degree, and the Golden Age Club in Richibouctou-Village. He was a veteran of WWII, served overseas with Canadian Transport RCASC. Gerard is survived by his wife, Alice, they would have celebrated 55 years of marriage on July 4th, 2008. He was a loving father to one daughter, Diane (son in law Richard Guimond) of Richibouctou-Village; two sisters, Simone Leger (Late Alyre) of Grand Barachois, Jeannette Edwards (Bob) of Lakefield, QC; one grandson, Paul; and several nieces and nephews. Gerard was predeceased by two sisters, Albertine LeBlanc and Yollande Maillet; two brothers, Joseph Landry and Laurie Landry. Resting at St. Antoine de Padoue Roman Catholic Church, Slumber Room, Richibouctou-Village with visiting hours Friday 2 to 4, 5:30 until time of funeral. The funeral mass will be held at the St. Antoine de Padoue Roman Catholic Church, Richibouctou-Village Friday, June 6th, 2008 at 7:00pm. Interment will be in the Parish Cemetery.
