Craig B. Purdy
Craig B. Purdy Craig B. Purdy, 57, of Pointe-du-Chene, passed away due to a swimming accident in Pointe-du-Chene on Friday, June 13, 2008. Born in Moncton, he was the son of Hubert and Audrey (Colpitts) Purdy of Moncton. Craig was a retired CNR conductor with 34 years service, Member of the Royal Black Preceptory # 520, Deputy Master of Moncton Loyal Orange Lodge # 62 and member of The CN Pensioners Assoc. Craig gave 34 years of his life to CN and often recounted stories of those days on the railroad. He enjoyed each day of his brief retirement to the fullest. Retirement afforded him the opportunity to enjoy his passion for keeping the perfect lawn; planting and tilling his gardens. Once he and Debby retired, bus trips with Nancy's Tours became the new joy in their lives and the many new friendships that were formed. He had a great love for the family cabin on the Pollett River. When Pointe-du-Chene became his home, he made a circle of new friends and looked forward to Guy's Night at some Eatery. Craig was a man who loved life and lived it to the fullest. His sense of humor and kindness towards others touched so many lives. Above all, he loved his family and cherished his children. In addition to his parents, Hubert and Audrey, Craig will be sadly missed by the love of his life and life partner, Debby Stuart; sons, Peter James, Kris, Jonathan; and daughter, Colleen, all of the Moncton area; sister, Dee (Todd Steeves), Moncton; mother-in-law, Marjorie Stuart, Moncton; sister-in-law, Brenda Duncan, Pointe-du-Chene; Several aunts, uncles and cousins.
