Georgie E. Sowerby 1912-2008 The death of Georgie E. Sowerby, 96, widow of the late John Sowerby, of McNair Manor, Riverview occurred at her residence on Thursday June 19th 2008. Born in Shediac on February 18, 1912 she was the daughter of the late Ezra and Ida (Lewis) Taylor. For many years Georgie and her husband owned and operated a dairy farm in Dorchester Crossing, after which she was employed with Patural's Seafood, and Shediac Dairy until her retirement. A member of the Shediac Baptist Church she was very active in all church activities when she was younger. She is survived by her daughter, Sandy Ratcliffe (Larry) of Shediac Cape; her grand children, Megan of York, PEI, Sarah and Christopher both of Halifax; one great grand son, Jackson Gallant of York, PEI, her sister Florence Mellway of Brantford, ON and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband John, her parents and her brothers and sisters. Visiting with the family well be held on Monday June 23rd from 7 to 9. Her "Celebration of Life" will be held Tuesday, June 24th at 1 pm in Cadman Bowness Funeral Home (857-1110) 114 Alma Street Moncton followed by a reception in the reception area of the funeral home. Interment will be in Fairhaven Cemetery. Donations in Georgie's memory made to the Shediac Baptist Church would be appreciated by the family.
