Mary Ethel Walton DORCHESTER, NB - The death of Mary Ethel Walton, age 94, widow of Garnet Walton, of Fredericton, formerly of Dorchester, NB, occurred at the York Manor, Fredericton on Monday, June 23, 2008. Born in Bayfield, she was a daughter of the late Anderson and Sadie (Briggs) Allen. Mary was an active member and strong supporter of the Dorchester United Church; loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother; well- known for her beautiful handiwork, knitting , crocheting, quilting, and sewing. She is survived by her children, Robert (Elizabeth), Byron (Theresa), Beryl Dorcas (Gordon; Six grandchildren, Jeffrey Walton (Sally), Jennifer Ward (Stephen), Julie Clarke (Michael), Kelly Dorcas (Michael Gemmell),Andrew Dorcas (Lorna King -fiancee), Joanna Walton (Andrew Hicks); eleven great grandchildren, two step-great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild; and sister-in-law, Lynn Allen; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mary was predeceased by her husband, Garnet Walton; her sisters, Wanda Murray and Evelyn Allen; brother, Alton Allen; and great grandson, Lucas Walton. Mary's remains have been entrusted into the care of the Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St., Sackville (506-364-1300) with visitation on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service to celebrate Mary's life will be held at the Dorchester United Church on Thursday, June 26, 2008 at 11 am, David Jones officiating. Burial in the Dorchester Rural Cemetery.
