Rolland "Ried" Lachambre 1924 - 2008 It is with deep sadness, we announce the sudden passing of Red Lachambre on Tuesday, July 15th, 2008. Born in North Battleford, Saskatchewan, he is survived by his wife of 57 years, Jean; their children, Paul Lachambre (Laura), Debbie Lawson (Chuck), Rick Lachambre; as well as grandchildren, Bonnie (Aaron), Tyler, Hayley, Joshua, Sam, Lucas; and a great grand-daughter, Abigail. Red was a member of the Royal Canadian Armed Forces in WWII. He moved his family to the Miramichi in 1966 and prior to his retirement in 1989, he worked with Customs and as Port Manager. Red was well known for his years of volunteer service at the Miramichi Golf & Country Club and with the 254 Wing R.C.A.F.A. Cadets. A memorial mass will be held at the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin, 306 Water Street, on Monday, July 21st at 11am. Reception to follow. As expressions of sympathy donations to the Covenant House Toronto (20 Gerrard St. East Toronto, Ontario, M5B 2P3), or any charity of the donors choice, would be appreciated by the family.
