Morrissey (Moe) Edmund Gaston The death of Morrissey (Moe) Edmund Gaston husband of Exelda Gaston of Miramichi, NB, occurred on Friday, September 5, 2008 at the Miramichi Regional Hospital at the age of 75. Born in Doaktown, NB, he was the son of the late William and Lucy (Robinson) Gaston. Morrissey was retired from the Canadian Armed Forces after 33 years of service, member of St. Samuel's Roman Catholic Church, St. Samuel's Men's Club, past member of the Lions Club and the Seamen's Hospital. Volunteer on many committees including: Folksong Festival, Irish Festival and the Alzheimer's Society. Besides his wife: Exelda, Morrissey is survived by: two daughters: Kathleen Gaston-Milburn (Roger) of Omemee, ON; Lynn Gaston of Douglastown, NB; one son: Kenneth of Calgary, AB; six sisters: Margaret Hovey, Elizabeth (Betty) Neess (Ove), Sharon Clowater (Merv) all of Doaktown, NB; Shirley Harkness (Bill) of Durham, ON; Eleanor Gilks (Evelock) of Blissfield, NB; Joanne Gaston (Mike) of Fredericton, NB; four brothers: Bill, Edward (Glenna), Wilfred (Jan), Bev (Linda) all of Doaktown, NB; one sister in law: Lona Gaston; two grandchildren: Dallas and Peyton and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he is predeceased by: three brothers: Floyd, Ronnie & Bobby; one brother in law: Willie Hovey; two sister in laws: Roberta & Deanna Gaston. The family will receive visitors at Bell's Funeral Home, on Monday, September 8, 2008 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 2 PM with Father Bill Nugent officiating assisted by: Father Maurice Swift. Burial will take place in St. Samuel's Roman Catholic Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Juvenile Diabetes or to a memorial of one's choice.
