Shirley MacSween

1922-2008 Prime Brook It is with great sadness that we regret to announce the passing of Shirley MacSween, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, on Sunday, Nov. 9, 2008, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney. Born in Reserve, N.S., she was the daughter of the late John William and Margaret Munroe. Shirley was an adherent of Bethel Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed life to the fullest, enjoying many travels here and abroad to visit family and friends. Shirley enjoyed playing cards with her friends and was always there for her family, friends and neighbours. She watched over us, now may God watch over her. Shirley was predeceased by her husband, Roy and sons, Roy and Russell. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Shirley is survived by her daughters, Marguerite (Tom) Penny, Sydney, Ruth (Gary) Morrison, Marion Bridge, and Mimi (Stefanos 'Nick') Horianopoulas, Ontario; son, Laird, at home; granddaughters, Sheryl, Lesley, Lee-Anne, Kim, Heather, Amy and Traci; great-grandchildren, Ella, Jonathan and Connor and sister-in-law, Sarah and family. A memorial service will be held at Sydney Memorial Chapel, Friday at 2 p.m. with Rev. Robert Lyle officiating. Following the service a private family burial will take place in Riverview Cemetery, Marion Bridge. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Palliative Care Unit at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital. Condolences may be sent to the family at sydneymemorialchapel@ns.sympatico.ca.
