Wathen (Watt) Hesketh McLenaghan 1920-2008 MIRAMICHI - Wathen (Watt) Hesketh McLenaghan, husband of Elizabeth (Sadie) (Watling) McLenaghan, of Auburnville, passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on Saturday, September 13, 2008, at the age of 88. Born in Auburnville on June 27, 1920, he was the son of the late Wathen and Margaret (Williston) McLenaghan. He was a farmer and fisherman. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church, Bay du Vin. He was a veteran of the Second World War and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #3, Chatham. He is survived by his wife, the former Elizabeth (Sadie) Watling; two daughters, Jane Chapman (James Brown) of Miramichi and Audrey Gulliver (George) of Auburnville; three sons, Robert (Christina) of Centre Napan, John (Gail) of Pincher Creek, Alberta, and Roy (Judy) of Black River Bridge; one sister, Laura Fowlie of Little Branch; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; as well as, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters, Marjorie Gibson and Janie McLenaghan; six brothers, Arthur, Lee Roy, Gordon, Lawrence, James, and Walter McLenaghan; two grandchildren, Tanya McLenaghan and Natalie Chapman. At Wathen's request, there will be no visitation at the funeral home. A memorial service will be held at St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church on Thursday, September 18, 2008 at 2 pm, conducted by Reverend Richard Steeves. Interment will be in the St. John the Evangelist Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations to St. John the Evangelist Church or to a charity of the donor's choice, would be appreciated by the family.
