William Eric MacPherson

London, Ont. On Nov. 9, 2008, after a lengthy illness and a valiant struggle, William Eric MacPherson passed away at Victoria Hospital, London, Ont., with his loving family by his side, at age 79. Beloved husband and best friend of Shirley MacPherson (Robson). Loving father of Gayle MacPherson-Gagnon (Laurence Gagnon), Rob MacPherson (Karen), London, and Scott MacPherson, Blyth, Ont. Dear grandfather of Katrina MacPherson (Dino), Shane MacPherson (Alison), Ian Gagnon (Jasmine), all of London, Trevor MacPherson, Belleville, Ont., Amber Lynn and MacKenzie MacPherson of Auburn, Ont. Great-grandfather of Tatum, Paige, Taylor, Hope and baby R.J. Eric was born in Glace Bay, N.S., son of the late Bert and Abbie MacPherson. Survived by brothers, Clair MacPherson (Olive), Stuart MacPherson, sister, Betty MacDonald, all of Glace Bay. Eric will be sadly missed by nieces, nephews, his extended family and many friends. Eric was a 25-year veteran of Canada's Peacekeeping and UNEF forces, serving in Canada, Korea and Egypt. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Victory Branch No. 317, London, Past Senior Counsellor of United Commercial Travellers, London Council 630. Visitation at Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel, 1997 Dundas St., East (at Wavell), London Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2008, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service at East London Anglican Ministries, 2060 Dundas St., East, Thursday, Nov. 13, 2008, at 11 a.m. with interment to follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, London.
