Leo David Murphy of Melrose, New Brunswick occurre Wednesday
Leo David Murphy The death of Leo David Murphy of Melrose, New Brunswick occurred at the Sackville Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, September 17, 2008. Born in Melrose, he was the son of Edwin and Margaret (Moore) Murphy. Leo was an active member of Saint Bartholomew Parish, Melrose; a former Knight of Columbus; Chairman of the Cemetery Committee, and a friend to everyone. Prior to his retirement as Terminal Operator for Marine Atlantic, Leo worked with Canadian National Railways, and Green Gables Dairy. He enjoyed farming and was a member of the Canadian Sheep Breeders Association. He is survived by Sister, Mary Margaret (Ellen), Moncton; and Mary Mooney of Dartmouth, NS. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Raymond and Joseph, Melrose; and sisters, Agnes Murphy, Melrose; and Kathleen Colford, Blissfield. Visitation will be held at the Jones Funeral Home (3 Main Street, 538-2241) Port Elgin, NB on Friday September 19, 2008 from 7-9pm, and 9am Saturday, September 20, 2008 until departure for the funeral. The Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at St. Bartholomew Church, Melrose, Saturday September 20, 2008 at 10am.
