Simone Mary Lawlor (Wilbur) HALIFAX, NB - Passed away at 70, peacefully surrounded by family September 29, 2008, after a long and courageous battle with multiple sclerosis. Born in Moncton on May 18, 1938, Simone was a daughter of the late Bill and Bertha Wilbur. Simone retired from General Motors in 1973. Simone was a loving wife and mother who always put the needs of her family above her own. Simone was a Habs fan, loved talking about the weather, and she would talk for hours about her family. Simone is survived by her spouse, Kenneth; sons, Grant (Joanne), Napanee, Ont., Darren (Amy) and Billy (Lisa), both of Halifax; granddaughter, Lauren; sisters, Gerry (Freddy) Gautreau, Taddy (Roy) Hopper, Pauline (Bernie) Cormier; and brother, Greg all of Moncton, as well as many nieces and nephews. Simone was predeceased by brother, Victor; sister, Betty Lou; and brothers, Ronnie and Paul. Cremation has taken place. A church service for family and friends was held in Parkstone Manor, 156 Parkland Dr., Clayton Park, on Thursday, October 2, at 11 a.m. in the chapel to honour and celebrate Simone's life. Special thanks to the staff at Parkstone Manor who cared for her with respect and tenderness for the past two years. Condolences may be sent to 17 Howland Dr., Lower Sackville, NS B4C 1S5. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made directly to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, Atlantic Division. "An angel who has always had wings is now walking with God."
