Armand Gautreau

Armand Gautreau Armand Gautreau, 87, of Moncton, with his loving family at his side passed away peacefully at the Dr. Georges L. Dumont Hospital on Saturday, October 25, 2008 following a three week illness. Born in Pre d'En Haut, he was the son of the late Eddie and Rosanne (LeBlanc) Gautreau. Armand was a respected and loved business man who was well known through all the Atlantic Provinces. He was a very good salesman, having sold signs that are still up today. He was co-owner of Star Neon Signs, Champlain Signs and had retired from Imperial Signs at the age of 72. He was a member of Christ The King Roman Catholic Church and belonged to Christ The King, Notre Dame De La Paix and Dieppe Golden Age Clubs and was also a veteran of the Second World War, served with the Royal Canadian Army. He loved life, dancing, playing cards, darts and bowling. He and his first wife Rita made many organized bus tours to the US and yearly pilgrimage to the province of Quebec and other points of interest. With his second wife Lorraine, he continued doing tours and made it to his 100th tour. Armand will be sadly missed by his children, Anne Leger (Norman), Georgette Fillmore ( Douglas), both of Moncton; grandchildren, Natalie Leger-LeBlanc (Ron), Moncton, Marc Leger (Dawn), Antigonish, NS; brothers, Clement (Corinne), Gerard (Anita), Francis (Maria), Pre d'En Haut. Leandre (Cecile), Dieppe. Ronald (Antoinette), Memramcook. Eric (Late Jeannine), (Celestina), Dieppe; sister-in-law, Rita Gautreau (Late Ulysse), Pre d'En Haut; several nieces, nephews and cousins; his second wife, Lorraine Babin and her children, Marie, Norma, Diane and their families: In addition to his parents, predeceased by his first wife, Rita Malenfant (1998); sisters, Florine Arsenault (late Johnnie), Rita Bourgeois (late Rene); brothers, Ulysse, Irois and Aldorie. Visitation, Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995), Monday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. Moncton Legion #6 Memorial Service 4pm Monday. Visitation Tuesday 9am to 10:30am. Funeral mass, Paroisse du Christ Roi, Tuesday October 28, 2008, 11am, Rev. Yvon Cormier officiating: Reception at Club d'Age d'Or following the mass: Interment Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Dieppe.
