Ivan A. Dickson

Ivan A. Dickson 1920-2008 Miramichi - Ivan Amos Dickson, husband of the late Verne C. Dickson, of the South Napan Road, passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, on Friday afternoon, October 24, 2008, at the age of 88. Born in Napan, on June 20, 1920, he was the son of the late Horace and E. Linda (Gilliss) Dickson. He was a heavy equipment operator by profession and a retired employee of the Dept. of National Defence, at the former CFB Chatham. He was Christian by faith. He is survived by one daughter, Sharon MacDonald (Al), of St. Thomas, Ont.; one son, Weldon Dickson (Lorraine), of South Napan Road; one daughter-in-law, Karen Dickson, of Scarborough, Ont.; two sisters, Ruth Titus (Harrett), of London, Ont. and Eurana Collins, of Saint John; one brother, Alvin Dickson (Kathleen), of South Napan Road; eight grandchildren; 12 great- grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Verne, in 2006; one son, Dawson Dickson, in 2008; one sister, Muriel Lockerbie; four brothers, Oakley, Lee, Lorriston and Marcus Dickson. Visitation will be at Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., on Monday only, from 2-4 & 7-9pm. Funeral service will be held from Adams Funeral Home Chapel, on Tuesday, October 28, 2008, at 2pm. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Miramichi. As expressions of sympathy, donations to any charity of the donors' choice, would be appreciated by the family.
