Vital Bourgeois 1924-2008 Vital passed away peacefully at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Regional Hospital on Friday, October 31, 2008. He was born August 8, 1924 in Moncton the son of the late Marc and Lucie (Dupuis) Bourgeois; beloved husband of Honorine (née Caissie); loving father of Jeannette Arsenault (late Robert) of Rothesay, Armand (Fernande) of Moncton, Donna Baglole of Cambridge, ON, Roland (Charlotte) of Pte-du-Chêne and Francine Bourgeois of Moncton; pépère of Marc, Suzanne, Chantal, Lise, Michael, Patricia, Cory and the late Brandon; great-grandfather of Andrew, Adam, Sémira, Eulani, Isabella and Carson; dear brother of Valérie (Marguerite) of Ottawa. Vital was also predeceased by three sisters and six brothers. He was a veteran of World War II having served with the Navy and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No 6, Moncton. He was a dedicated employee with Via Rail for 41 years, retiring in 1981. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Assumption Cathedral in Moncton on Tuesday, November 4, 2008 at 11:00 AM. There will be a reception in the church hall following the mass and interment will take place at Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Dieppe following the reception. As requested, there are no visiting hours. Contributions in memory of Vital can be made to the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Regional Hospital Foundation's 'Tree of Hope' campaign or a charity of the donor's choice.
