Hannah Smiley 1923 - 2008 Hannah Smiley, 84, wife of the late Alexander Smiley formerly of Dock St., Shediac passed away on Wednesday, November 12, 2008 at the Villa Providence Home following a lengthy illness. Born December 26, 1923 in Aberdeen, Scotland, she was the daughter of the late William and Jemima (Milne) Ferguson. A War Bride, Hannah arrived at Pier 21 in Halifax, Nova Scotia aboard the Aquitania on April 10, 1946. She is survived by three daughters: Eleanor Clements (Edgar) of Pointe du Chêne, Marlene Smiley of Montréal, QC, Linda Léger (Jacques) of Trois-Ruisseaux; two sons: Alan Smiley (Geneva) and Michael (Annette) both of Shediac; fifteen grandchildren: thirty great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Besides her husband Alexander (1988), she is also predeceased by two children: infants Alexander and Jacqueline; a brother Jim, two sisters: Jen and Margaret and by several half sisters and half brothers. Visitation at Frenette Funeral Home Chapel and Cremation Services Ltd., 396 Main St., Shediac (532-3297) on Friday, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday, from 10 a.m. until time of departure at 10:50 a.m. Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 15, 2008 at Saint-Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Shediac.
