John (Jack) B. Kennedy 1920 - 2008 Miramichi - John (Jack) Burton Kennedy, husband of the late Carmel P. Kennedy, of Stanley Street, Miramichi, passed away at the Dr. George Dumont Hospital, in Moncton, on Friday, November 14, 2008, at the age of 87. Born in Glenwood, he was the son of the late Thomas and Theresa (Lahey) Kennedy. He attended St. Michaels Basilica and was a retired employee of the Dept. of Transportation, N.B.; a former member of the Chatham Lions Club. He was a Veteran of the Second World War, serving in Canada with the R.C.A.F. He is survived by one daughter, Colleen Veniot (Stephen), of Bathurst; two sons, Paul Kennedy, of Miramichi and John Kennedy (Carol), of Truro, N.S.; three grandchildren, Jennifer Veniot-Rivers (Brett), Jackie Veniot and Laura Kennedy; two sisters, Margaret Rideout, of Miramichi and Jean Capstick (Ken), of Belleville, Ont. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Carmel Phee, in 2007; one infant sister, Kathleen Kennedy, one sister Mary Reinsborough. Visitation will be at Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., Miramichi, on Sunday only, from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celabrated from St. Michaels Basilica, on Monday, November 17, 2008, at 11 am, conducted by Father John Fraser. Interment will be in St. Michaels Cemetery, Miramichi. Please note, vigil prayers will be held at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon, at 3 pm.
