Bernice Brooks

Bernice Brooks 1911-2008 Bernice Brooks of Campbelltown, wife of the late Albert Brooks passed away peacefully at the Campbelltown Nursing Home after a short illness. Born in Cross Point, Québec she was the daughter of the late Austin Quinn and the late Marguerite Quinn (Rattie). Bernice will be sadly missed by her only daughter, Lois Sullivan (Vaughan) Riverview, NB; two grandchildren, Susan Sullivan (Frankie Wanke) Beaverbank, NS, Doug Sullivan, Moncton, NB. Two great-grandchildren, Tara Sobey and Sean Sobey, Bedford, NS; sister, Ethel Mazerolle, Campbelltown. Also survived by nieces and nephews and her many wonderful friends. A "special" thank you to Frank Brooks and Joyce Allison for all the time and kindness you gave so willingly. Bernice retired from the Accounting Department at the Provincial Hospital in 1983. She was an active lady who enjoyed being around family and friends and watching her "beloved" Montréal Canadiens. She was a member of the St. Thomas Aquinas Parish and the CWL for many years. She was an avid bridge player and served as treasurer and vice-president of the Campbelltown Duplicate bridge club, also a member of the Ladies Liberal Association and served on the Finance Committee of the New Brunswick board in Fredericton. She played an active role in federal, provincial and municipal politics and will be fondly remembered by all. She was predeceased by her husband, Albert in 2002; and one sister, Rhena in 1994. Funeral mass in St. Thomas Aquinas Church Campbelltown, Tuesday morning at 11 am. Visitations at Maher's Funeral Home Campbelltown Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm, Tuesday from 9:30 am till time of funeral.
