Oswald M. Trenholm 1922 - 2008 With great sadness, the family of Oswald Trenholm, age 86, of Sackville, announce his peaceful passing at the Sackville Memorial Hospital on Saturday, December 6, 2008. Born in Cape Spear, he was a son of the late Major and Lizzie (Spence) Trenholm. Ozzie was a lifelong commercial fisherman and enjoyed hunting. A member of the Sackville Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion, he served with the Canadian Army, Royal Edmonton Regiment in Italy, France, Germany and Holland during WW II. Ozzie will be sadly missed by his wife, Joan (Miller) MacLelland); children, Terrance (Marilyn) Trenholm, Burlington, ON, Craig (Rose) Trenholm and Kathy (John) Pokas, both of Hamilton, ON.; chosen children, Debbie (Walter) Coates, and Ross (Betty Legere) MacLelland, both of Amherst, NS, Cecil (Rose) MacLelland, Cape Spear, NB and Honey (Ed Lutes) MacLelland, Hillsborough, NB; 16 grandchildren and several great grandchildren; sisters - in - law, Lydie Trenholm, Cape Tormentine and Jen Trenholm; three cousins. He was predeceased by a sister, Amelia and brothers, Mancel, Eldred and Lowerison. Oswald's remains have been entrusted into the care of the Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge Street, Sackville (506-364-1300) from where the funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 9, 2008 at 2 pm. Padre Alan Sears officiating. Family and friends are invited to a time of visitation at the funeral home on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Sackville Branch #26 of the Royal Canadian Legion will hold a Legion Memorial Service on Monday at 7:30. Burial in the Sackville Cemetery.
