William "Bill" I. Hubley
William "Bill" I. Hubley 1924 - 2009 William "Bill" I. Hubley, 84, formerly of Bromley Ave. passed away at Veteran's Health Care Centre in Moncton on Friday, January 2, 2009. Born in Halifax, NS on March 12, 1924, he was the son of the late Edgar and Grace (Long) Hubley. He attended Wesley Memorial United Church. Bill retired from Moncton Transit and Codiac Transit after 38 years of service. He was a Veteran of WWII and served in Europe with the Royal Canadian Army, he was also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Moncton Br. #6. An outdoorsman, Bill enjoyed hunting and spending time at his camp in Churchill, Albert Co. He is survived by his children, Ray Hubley (Noreen) of Moncton, June Hanson of Moncton, Cheryl LeBlanc (Keith) of Lower Sackville, NS and Todd Hubley (Holly) of Riverview; by his former wife, Marg; six grandchildren, Heather (Paul), Shannon, Sean (Nadja), Christina (Brad), Ryan (Tiffany) and Allison (Tyler); two great-grandchildren, Taylor and Isaiah. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his infant brother, Bryce. Visitation will be at Tuttle Brothers Funeral Home, Lutz St., Moncton on Sunday, January 4, 2009 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held at Tuttle Brothers Memorial Chapel on Monday, January 5, 2009 at 11 am with Rev. Dr. Philip Griffin-Allwood officiating. A legion service conducted by Branch #6 will be held at Tuttle Brothers on Sunday, January 4 at 3:30 pm. Interment will be in Fairhaven Memorial Gardens Those desiring, donations in Bill's memory made to the Veteran's Health Care Centre, the Salvation Army or to the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated. A special thanks to the Veterans Heath Care Centre, the volunteers, Junior & Sweetie Face, Andre & Gaetan, and a special thank you to the nurses and staff for the Excellent Care given to Bill.
