55, Port Hawkesbury It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our dear son and brother, David Evans, which occurred Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2008, at home. Born in North Sydney, he was a son of Llewellyn and Lena (MacAulay) Evans. David was employed with NS Power Inc. as a chemist at the Point Tupper plant in Port Hawkesbury, retiring in June, after 30 years of service. A love in David's life was spending time at his cottage in Margaree Valley, especially fishing and swimming in the Margaree River. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Anglican Church, North Sydney, and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 43, Port Hawkesbury. David is survived by both his parents, Llewellyn and Lena Evans, North Sydney; three sisters, Patsy Evans, George's River, Beth Evans, Yarmouth, and Vivian (Colin Ross), Margaree Valley; three brothers, Brent (June), Mill Creek, Philip, Halifax and Harvey (Kathy), North Sydney; eight nieces and nephews; seven grandnieces and nephews; and several aunts and uncles. David will be sadly missed by his family and many friends. Visitation for David will be held Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney. Funeral service to take place Saturday at 2 p.m. from St. John the Baptist Anglican Church, North Sydney, with Rev. Gloria McClure-Fraser officiating.
