Florence Elsie MacDonald 1919 - 2009 Florence E. MacDonald, formerly of Peoples Park Tower in Moncton, passed away at Drew Nursing Home in Sackville on Thursday, January 15th, 2009 at the age of 89 years. Born in Moncton, NB on December 24th, 1919; she was the daughter of the late Jeremiah and Elsie (Petrie) Dale. Florence was a member of the Moncton Wesleyan Church, she had a great faith in God and was a wonderful prayer warrior. She loved her Senior Groups, the Salvation Army Home League, sewing, quilting and reading. She also had a great love of her children, grandchildren, great and great-great grandchildren, and her siblings. She will be fondly remembered by her daughters, Betty Gladstone (Wallace) of Riverview, and Carol MacLeod (Blain) of Calgary, AB; her sons, Eugene M. MacDonald Jr. (Helen) of Saskatoon, SK, and David F. MacDonald (Carrie) of Moncton; ten grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren; by her two sisters, Mary Beverley of Moncton, and Dora Parrott (Bill) of St. Johns, NL; one brother, Fred Dale (Elaine) of Summerside, PEI; as well as nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Eugene W. MacDonald Sr. in 1994. A Celebration of Florence's life will be held at the Moncton Wesleyan Church, St. George Boulevard, Moncton on Monday, January 19th, 2009 at 2pm with Reverand Dr. L. Buckingham officiating. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery in the spring. In Florence's memory, donations to the Moncton Wesleyan Church, The Salvation Army Home League or to the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated.
