Elizabeth Welsh 1926 - 2009 The death of Elizabeth Welsh, widow of Alexander James (Jim) Welsh, of Cameron Street, Moncton, occurred at The Moncton Hospital on Tuesday, January 20, 2009. Born in Clydebank by Glasgow, Scotland, on August 26th, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Thomson. During World War II, Elizabeth was employed with the Coal Board in Clydebank; she also was a survivor of the Clydebank Blitz in 1941. Elizabeth had been a member of the IODE in Moncton as well as a member of the Frank H. Tingley Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. She is survived by her son, James Douglas Welsh (Margie) of Halifax; her grand daughter, Dr. Jennifer Welsh of Lakehead, ON, her grandson, James Douglas Welsh II (Jacque) of Dartmouth and her great granddaughter, Hannah Elizabeth Welsh of Dartmouth. The last surviving member of her immediate family, she was predeceased by her parents and her husband Jim in 1986. By personal request there will not be any public visiting or funeral service. A private graveside service will be held later in the spring. Donations in Mrs. Welsh's name may be made to the memorial of the donor's choice.
