George "Ottie" Constantine

George "Ottie" Constantine 1918-2009 George Constantine passed away peacefully at the K. E. Spencer Memorial Home on January 23rd, 2009, one week short of his 91st birthday. Born in Dobson's Corner, NB, son of the late Talbert and Jemima (Reade) Constantine. Ottie served overseas in England, France, Belgium and Holland as a member of the RCAF during WWII. Upon his return to civilian life he was employed as a stationary engineer at the NB Gas and Oil Fields in Stoney Creek and later with the sister company; Moncton Electricity and Gas in Moncton. Ottie's later work years were with the NBEPC until his retirement in 1980. He and Marion were faithful and long time members of the Wesleyan Church in Moncton and regularly attended the annual Beulah Camp Meetings in Brown's Flat where they maintained a summer home for many years. He is survived by his two sons, Reginald (Theresa) of Moncton and Gary (Patricia) of Fort McMurray, AB; granddaughters, Debra (Jim) Killam of Port Hope, ON, Neva (Herhard) Becker of Bedford, NS, Wendy (Ryan) Koene of Edmonton, AB; great-grandchildren, Nyssa Killam, Katrina Giddings, Kristin Langridge, Tyler Edwards, Hannes Becker; as well as one great-great grandson, Trent Giddings. Besides his parents, Ottie was predeceased by his wife, Marion (Fawcett) d. 1999; son, Neil Talbert; daughter, Neva Janice; five sisters, Nellie Ross, Jennie Murray, Ethel Henry, Emma Wheaton and Greta Constantine; five brothers, Joseph, William, Ted, Bert and Ross; three half-sisters; as well as four half- brothers. Resting at Fair Haven Funeral Home, 1177 Salisbury Road, Moncton, (506) 852-3530 with visitation on Tuesday, January 27th, 2009 from 7-9pm. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 28th, 2009 in the Chapel of Fair Haven Funeral Home at 11am followed by a reception in the Garden View Reception Room. Interment in Fair Haven Memorial Gardens. Remembrances in Ottie's memory may be made to the Spencer Nursing Home "Generator Fund" or to the charity of the donor's choice.
