Hectorine (Nine) Manuel 1945 - 2009 MacDougall Settlement - It is with great sadness and broken hearts that the family announces the death of Hectorine Manuel, 63, of MacDougall Settlement which occurred on Friday, February 6, 2009 at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont Hospital after a lengthy illness. Born in Moncton on May 22, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Hyacinthe Manuel and the late Elise McGraw. Hectorine was a doting daughter and will be sadly missed by her daughter, Anne Savoie- McKechney (Garnet), her sister, Jeannette Cormier (Irené), her brothers, Hyacinthe Manuel (Claudette) and Yvon Manuel (Theresa), as well as by several nieces and a nephew. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a very special little girl, Josée. Before her illness, Hectorine devoted her life to caring for others. She loved people and loved to make them laugh. She had a wonderful sense of humor which shone through even in her most difficult moments. She was an avid card player and loved to cook. Resting at Passage Funeral Co- Operative, 3754 Route 134, Shediac Bridge, visiting hours will be on Monday, February 9 from 7 to 9pm and Tuesday, February 10 from 2 to 4pm and 5:30 to 6:30pm. Funeral service will be held at Notre-Dame-du-Sacré Coeur Roman Catholic Church in Notre-Dame-de-Kent on Tuesday, February 10, at 7pm. A very special thank you to Dr. M. D'Astous, Dr. Mateau, Dr. Baril, Dr. Lee, Dr. Desilets, as well as all the staff on the 4C unit at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont Hospital. Donations to the Fonds de Bourse d'Étude in memory of Josée Poirier, Heart and Stroke or donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
