59, Sydney/Charlottetown Hugh Alexander MacEachern passed away Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2008, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, after battling cancer. Born on Sept. 16, 1949, in Inverness, Cape Breton, he was the son of the late Alex Jim and Agnes (MacQuarrie) MacEachern. Surviving are his sister, Cathy (Alvin) Croken, Howie Centre, N.S.; niece, Bethany (Kent) Johnstone; nephew, Aron, P.E.I.; uncles and cousins. Besides his parents, Hugh was predeceased by a brother, Hugh Daniel, in infancy. Visitation will take place in the vestry of St. Mary's Church, Mabou, Friday Nov. 21, 2008, from 7-9 p.m. Funeral mass on Saturday, Nov. 22, 2008m at 11 a.m., with Fr. Angus Morris officiating.
