Alvin Horace Estabrooks 1924 - 2009 The death of Alvin Horace Estabrooks, 84, occurred at the Sackville Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, February 18th, 2009. Born in Sackville, he was the son of the late Horace and Harriet (Golde) Estabrooks. A machinist by trade, Alvin's work took him from the Fawcett Foundry in Sackville to MFM Industries in Moncton until his retirement. He was a member of the Sackville Fire Department and remained an honorary member after his departure. Alvin will be sadly missed by his two sons, Brian A. (Barbara) of Dorchester and George W. of Sackville; two brothers, Merlin (Norma) of Peace River, AB, and Ross of Casper, Wyoming; a sister Shirley (Prescott Burill (Rev)), Calgary, AB; two grandchildren, Isaac and Carrie Ann, and two great grandchildren, Joshua and Zachary. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Dora (nee Boudreau) and a brother Lawrence. Alvin's remains have been entrusted into the care and supervision of Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge Street, Sackville (364-1300), from where visitation will be held 7 to 9 pm on Friday, February 20th, 2009. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, February 21st, 2009 at 2 pm. Rev. Hugh Davidson officiating.
