Mervyn R. Jardine 1931 - 2009 Miramichi - Mervyn Raymond Jardine, husband of Claire Jardine, of the Wellfield - Collette Road, Napan, passed away at the Palliative Care Unit of the Miramichi Regional Hospital, on Tuesday, February 24th, 2009, at the age of 77. Born in Napan, on May 25th, 1931, he was the son of the late Mackenzie (Mack) and Rubina (Ruby Taylor) Jardine. He was a diesel mechanic by trade and an adherent of Carmel United Church, Napan. Merv was an avid gardiner and hunter. He is survived by his wife, the former Claire Searle; one daughter, Deborah Ansell (Eric), of Peterboro, Ont.; three sons, Ronald Jardine (Lori), of Kitimat, BC, Steve Jardine, of Hamilton, Ont., Brian Jardine, of Hamilton, Ont.; two brothers, Morris Jardine (Norma) and Ralph Jardine (Macrena), all of Napan; nine grandchildren; three great grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one son, Robert M. Jardine; one infant sister, Vivian Leigh Jardine. Visitation will be at Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King Street, on Friday only, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held from Adams Funeral Home Chapel, on Saturday, February 28th, 2009, at 2 pm, conducted by Pastor Willard Watling. Interment will be in the Black River Community Cemetery, later in the spring. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Palliative Care Unit of the Miramichi Regional Hospital or the Black River Cemetery Fund, would be appreciated by the family.
